Top 10 - Bloc Party blew away with my expectations with almost 48,000 sold. That was good enough for the top spot and like a few comments suggested, the new album has been growing on me. Shins stay strong with 38,000 sold enough for the 2nd spot. Bayside sell a little over 12,000 to take the 4th spot.
Here is the rest of the chart. Note that the first number is this week’s soundscans, the 2nd number is the overall scans so far for the life of the title:

Noteworthy - Hopeless/SubCity release another version of the Take Action compilation, volume 6, and it went on to sell a little over 4,000 copies, a very strong number for a compilation. Then again, I think it is a double CD and has a DVD. Apples in Stereo sell a little over 3,000 copies of what I think is their best album yet. The new record is great. Lifetime sell 2,690 copies which is a very strong number, but considering Fall Out Boy selling like 270,000 copies, you would think that the momentum would help Lifetime sell more. I guess it goes to show that Fall Out Boy fans may get Panic at the Disco, but they will probably never get Lifetime. Jesse Sykes sells 1,200 copies of her new record on Barsuk. I saw her play live once and it wasn’t my thing yet I read praise for her everywhere. One of my new favorite bands, Dear and the Headlights, go on to sell 900 copies which is pretty solid considering no one really knows them.
Upcoming Releases/Predictions - I looked high and low for what new records are coming out this week and I could only find new releases by Jay Munly, Small Leaks Sink Ships, and The Dark Romantics. Are there any indie releases coming out this week that I missed?

totally, I love the box set, especially “bottom of the world”. A triple CD selling that many copies is huge.

What about that Silversun Pickups!!! Such a great band, and CD. I love them!
Just think about the growth. They got a couple good tours, and the rest is history. They went from doing a few hundred a week, to then getting close to one thousand a week, to now doing 5-6k a week! Give me some of that love!

If things keep going the way they are, Hellogoobye may be as common a Top 10 band as Little Big Town - I think that band has been in the top 10 since you started posting these. What is their total??!?!?

Hellogoodbye has sold 259,000 so far which is incredible. Drive Thru continue to sign unknown bands and sell boatloads. What is their secret?

I think the Best Buy promo definitely helped Silversun Pickups. It was on sale for like $7 a month or so ago. They’re also getting played to hell on MTVU.

I’m really shocked at Lifetime — I thought they would’ve sold closer to 10,000. Really overestimated their fanbase.

I had no idea that Bayside was that big. I guess the Victory name goes a long ways. Same with Hellogoodbye and Drive-Thru. You just have kids that will buy whatever those two labels peddle.
Yeah, I definitely thought Lifetime would pull in a higher number…really surprising.
Silversun Pickups have been building for a while. Touring with Snow Patrol will only continue to enhance those numbers. Great band too!

Where do you get your information? Because I have to do a project for my math class and I am doing it on how many cd’s are sold per week (by a single band) and I am having a hard time finding information. can you please tell me where to find some info?
