The Podbop Way

Podbop is an interesting approach to promoting your upcoming tours. The site could become a very important resource for indie bands. Podbop works as a podcasting site where you can get mp3s of bands coming to your town. You can subscribe to it through Itunes or Ipodder or any Podcasting application. Let’s say you live in Denver, Colorado, you can subscribe to a feed that will send you mp3s of bands coming to your town. If you like what you hear, you can get the event information and check out the show. Currently they have over 1000 artists and over 2000 songs.

As an indie band or label, you should embrace this site and get in touch. For any smaller bands that have been on tour, you know that it is very difficult to get people to come see you play. This is definitely an easy way to have people hear your band before you come. It works better than a flyer or a poster on the wall. You can actually listen to the bands coming through town.

I think this is pretty rad. Within minutes of submitting our bands and registering with eventful.com we had all the upcoming shows published to eventful, podbop and 4 other community sites including http://del.icio.us/events. I highly reccomend this site to labels and bands.
